Drone-Based Aerial Survey
Our use of UAVs for aerial survey allows us to map up to 5,000 acres per day at a resolution of tens of millions of data points per acre. SOA processes data and delivers a centimeter-accurate 2-D and 3-D snapshot of existing conditions for topography, hydrology, or planning purposes.

President & CEO
Owen Ransom founded Sierra Overhead Analytics in 2013 alongside Tarick Abu-Aly. He currently handles day to day operation of the company, including contract acquisition and management, job oversight, and personnel logistics.Owen received his MS and PhD from the University of California, Davis for research including computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and large scale modeling and mapping.
Owen has been working on large scale private and federal civil construction and environmental engineering projects for over eight years as a project manager, engineer, and financial analyst.
Tarick Abu-Aly is responsible for the bulk of engineering calculations and high-level analysis that go into every project. He is an expert in project planning, software application, and data analysis.
Tarick has more than 7 years of experience in civil engineering design, renewable energy project management, computational hydraulic modeling, and river restoration design. He holds a Masters of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Davis and is a licensed civil engineer in California, Maryland, and Nevada.
Director of Environmental Engineering
Darin Galloway serves as Director of Environmental Engineering for Sierra Overhead Analytics, Inc. In his role, he is responsible for helping clients achieve their environmental goals, assisting with project permitting, and ensuring that civil designs follow environmental regulations.
Darin has more than 17 years of professional/technical experience in the environmental consulting industry. He is a Nevada Certified Environmental Manager and a Professional Engineer licensed in Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Arizona, and Mississippi.
