Owen Ransom, PhD
President
Owen is the founder and President of SOA. He provides high-level expertise in UAS data collection, geospatial data processing, and hydrologic modeling. Owen is a civil engineer and computational fluid dynamist with more than 12 years of professional engineering and project management experience. He has worked on large scale engineering projects throughout the United States and overseas. Dr. Ransom has worked extensively on identification and remediation of hydrologic and hydraulic issues, with specific attention being paid to overland flooding. He has worked in close conjunction with local, state, and federal regulation agencies.
Darin Galloway, P.E.
Vice President of Civil and Environmental Engineering
Darin serves as Vice President and Director of Civil and Environmental Engineering for SOA. In his role, he is responsible for helping clients achieve their site design and remediation goals, assisting with project permitting, and ensuring that civil designs follow environmental regulations. Darin is a Professional Engineer with more than 20 years of experience in environmental management, environmental/civil engineering, and water resources. Mr. Galloway has worked on large scale engineering projects and at industrial complexes and mine sites throughout the United States. He leads final QA on all engineering design efforts.
Jason Rolfe
Senior sUAS Mapping Scientist
Jason serves as Senior sUAS Mapping Scientist at SOA. In his role, he acts as lead sUAS pilot and mechanic for SOA, in charge of piloting, maintaining, and upgrading our fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles. Jason has more than 8 years of experience in remote sensing data analysis and field surveying. He has worked extensively on transportation, heavy civil infrastructure, and ecological monitoring projects throughout the western United States in collaboration with numerous state and federal agencies. Throughout his education and professional training, Jason has obtained instructor-level skills in ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Pix4D, Agisoft, and numerous computer modeling platforms.
Connor Beatty
Field Team Leader
Connor serves as Field Team Leader for SOA. In his role, he is responsible for piloting of sUAS and rapid collection of terrain or other site data. Connor has experience with operating a variety of sUAS in challenging conditions and demanding project schedules, along with experience in the use of Agisoft and AutoCAD Civil3D to create and manipulate geospatial datasets from field data.
